With a population of around 104,500 people, Jersey is small enough to know and large enough to matter. It is a close-knit community with a strong sense of identity, high levels of local interest and a healthy appetite for news about the Island. That makes it an ideal market for advertisers. But it also means that no single channel reaches everyone.
Three audiences, one Island
Jersey's population is ageing. The largest five-year age group is now 55 to 59 year olds, and the number of Islanders aged 65 and over grew by 13% between 2020 and 2025. At the same time, a younger, digitally native generation is building careers and households of its own. Each group consumes media in its own way.
| Audience | How they prefer to consume media | Where we reach them |
|---|---|---|
| Print first | Trusted, considered reading they can hold, keep and share | The Jersey Evening Post newspaper and our magazines |
| Read on screen | Fast, up-to-date written news on the move | Our websites, apps and daily email newsletters |
| Video and audio first | Short-form video, social media and on-demand listening | Our social channels and podcasts |
Print: a loyal, engaged readership
In Jersey, print still matters. Many Islanders have grown up with the Jersey Evening Post as part of their daily routine and continue to see it as the Island's paper of record. Print readers give their time and attention to what they read. An advert in the paper or one of our magazines sits in a trusted, uncluttered environment and stays in the home long after it is first seen.
Digital: news on demand
Our websites, apps and email newsletters serve Islanders who want written news that is fast, current and available wherever they are. These readers check in several times a day, often on their phones. Digital advertising lets brands reach them in real time, with the flexibility to change messages quickly and track results.
Social and podcasts: the next generation

Younger Islanders are more likely to discover news through video and audio. Our social channels deliver short, shareable content that reaches people where they already spend their time. Our podcasts offer something different: long-form listening with an audience that has chosen to spend time with us. National research shows that podcasts now reach more 18 to 24 year olds each month than broadcast TV.
Why a multimedia approach works
Relying on a single channel means speaking to only part of the Island. A campaign that runs across print, digital, social and audio reaches each audience in the format it trusts, and builds familiarity through repetition.
In a community of Jersey's size, that repetition matters. An Islander might see your advert in the morning paper, read a sponsored article on their phone at lunchtime and hear your message on a podcast on the way home. Each touchpoint reinforces the last.
All Island Media is the only local media owner with this breadth of channels under one roof. Through the Jersey Evening Post and Bailiwick Express, we reach Islanders of every age, on every platform, every day.
